Danielle Melissovas Thompson comes to Reason with a background in film and television, and she enjoys telling people's stories, no matter the format. She spent six years as a producer and video editor for the Christian Broadcasting Network, where her short-form documentaries aired on the cable channel Freeform. Her work there includes pieces on Anthony Ray Hinton, a former death row inmate who was exonerated after thirty years; Olympic wrestler and gold medalist Dan Gable; former gang member Casey Diaz; refugee and chess prodigy Tani Adewumi, and numerous other inspirational figures.
In recent years, Danielle also spent time as a lead video editor for the Atlanta-based production company, Invisible Mansion Pictures, during which time she co-edited a feature film, The Loved and Lost.
Before focusing on post-production, Danielle had the opportunity to work in various crew capacities behind the camera, on a variety of short films, commercials, and the occasional television show. She has directed a handful of short films, one of which, Purpose, was an official selection at the Mid-Atlantic Film Festival in 2014.
She and her husband own Fountain City Films, where their team creates video content for businesses and non-profits, such as the Norfolk, Virginia-based charter school, Park Place School. Her other projects have included documentaries, commercials, a web series, and a scripted podcast. In 2022, a documentary she co-edited, The Fearless 11, won Best Mississippi Feature at the Oxford Film Festival.
She graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor's in English, and then went on to earn an MFA in Directing from Regent University, and a Masters in Film Aesthetics from the University of Oxford in the UK.
She lives in Georgia with her husband, Adam Bova, along with their dog, Rhett, and cat, Scarlett.
